The serial tells the love story and life that Ashoka's parents Dharma along with Bindusara. Bindusara is the current King of Magadh as his step-mother has plans to thwart him. Bindusara Was attacked by the men who accompanied Helena however, she was saved by a gorgeous and courageous Brahmin girl known as Subhadrangi/Dharma. Attracted by her talent, Bindusara falls in love and weds her.
