Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani is the tale of the Royal Family from Ameerkot that is led by Rajmata and Rana Indravadhan Singh Deo (Siddhant Karnick). To make up for the financial hardships faced by the family, Rajmata marries Gayatri Seth (Drashti Dhami) who is her daughter from the largest state lender, Gopal Seth. This causes not just an uproar, but also creates a string of dramatic events in the Seth family, as well as Royal servants that cause the entire family to alter for the better. In the center of this story is the love affair between Ranaji who remains in love with his deceased wife and a typical, Gayatri who now discovers the fact that being the status of a Rani is not always the fairytale ending.
