Intensive Comedy Unit

The Comedy Unit and sometimes referred to as simply Comedy Unit It is the name of a Scottish production company which produces sitcoms, comedy sketches live-action shows as well as other productions of comedy. It was founded as an inside BBC department from 1983, under the guidance of the Producer Colin Gilbert and became an independent production house in 1996, when Gilbert and the business Manager April Chamberlain left the BBC. In 2001, they were operating with an annual turnover of over PS2. Million, a core team comprised of 12 staff members. They've also made television and radio programs which were broadcast by BBC Scotland and BBC Radio Scotland.
